Umpires Fees 2017/2018
We understand that a number of umpires are asking for clarification on the payment an umpire should receive for expenses. The recommendation was £20 but this is now felt quite a high increase.
At the AGM it was suggested that we follow the England Netball recommendation. Unfortunately, England Netball do not provide any guidance.
At West Midland Regional games Umpires receive the following:
To make it easy for clubs/teams to know what they should pay I’m recommending we go with the middle ground and charge £18 per game, commencing 1st September 2017.
If, however an umpire from within their own club wish to make another agreement with their club they are at liberty to do so.
Should you have any queries do not hesitate to contact me.

Please ensure you’re familiar with the discussions we had in the attachment, as we agreed a different approach on some issues including checking nails as ‘Team White’ which will start from the beginning of the season. We also discussed situations which arose during some games and advice was given on how we deal with these. It’s vital we’re consistent in the application of these rules.
I don’t have all of the email addresses of the newly qualified umpires, so if your club has a newly qualified umpire please pass this on, and I’ll have a full list from the registrations for the beginning of next season.
Only a third of umpires attended this meeting. Next season, it will be mandatory to ensure everyone is up to date with changes.
A date for 2020 will be published soon.
