England Netball Umpire C-Award Course When: Sunday 13th May 2012 Where: Alan Higgs Sports Centre, Allard Way, Coventry CV3 1HW Time: 9.45am register for 10.00am start, until 4.00pm (6 hours) Cost : £ 20.00 (England Netball affiliated members*) £ 30.00 (non-affiliated members of England Netball) * You must provide your EN affiliation number. We cannot guarantee your place on the course until we have confirmed your affiliation with England Netball. Course content : The aim of the C Award course is to prepare umpires with knowledge of rules and umpire competencies / protocols to umpire at either junior/youth and adult club level. The course is aimed at young people from 14 years old and adults who have attended the Beginner Umpiring course or who have umpiring experience at League level. Outcomes to be achieved on the course: To be able to apply the rules and control the game by: - Penalising correctly obvious infringements of the rules - Showing correct use of whistle, voice and terminology - Positioning and movement - Appearance and manner - To keep an accurate scorecard and call the score (when Table Officials not provided) - To identify the requirements for the England Netball 'C' Award - Prepare candidates for assessment or testing process Click Here to download the Application Form There has been alot of enquiries about a C-Award Course and as there are only 16 places available, these will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so to secure a place, please send your application form and payment as soon as you can. Evelyn Fisher Memorial Year End Tournament Many of the older netball players in and around Coventry will recall Evelyn Fisher MBE, a well respected player and long term committee member, in fact Evelyn was in on the start of the league in 1946. Sadly, Evelyn passed away in August. Your committee thought it is a fitting gesture to remain the end of year tournament to the ‘Evelyn Fisher Memorial Year End Tournament’. The tournament is meant to be fun for all at the end of a hard year of netball. Evelyn I’m sure as many will remember her was about enjoying herself at Netball Tournaments. I’m hoping all clubs will enter this inaugural tournament in remembrance of Evelyn. The tournament is scheduled for 21 April 2012 and you should by now have received the paperwork for entry. Please make it a very special first year.
Please remember forms must be sent in to the league even if the game is abandoned. Please ensure everyone signs and the score up to that point is recorded.
Netball Kit Available Webb-Ellis in Rugby have a surplus of netball skirts in both red and grey that two of our local schools used to use but have both discontinued. Any junior teams who play in grey or in red who may appreciate the offer of some cheap skirts, please contact Phil Blundell (01788) 567777.
